Midtown Sacramento, CA
Midtown Sacramento, known locally as Midtown, is a historical neighborhood just east of the city’s downtown area. It covers much of Sacramento’s original grid, east of 16th Street and west of Interstate 80, bordering on the neighboring communities of Richmond Grove and Boulevard Park.
Midtown is a residential district with tree-lined streets and old Victorian homes, as well as Sacramento’s center of art, music and culture. The city’s only urban winery is located in Midtown, along with plenty of boutiques, bars and dining establishments. The neighborhood is known for its art walk on the second Saturday of every month, attracting thousands. Midtown is also home to historic Sutter’s Fort, the first European settlement in Sacramento. Many politicians choose to live in Midtown when the California legislature is in session.
